A new ceramic work that makes a significant contribution to the world of arts and culture has been introduced to art lovers in Urla. The "Ataturk and Urla" themed ceramic panel, created in collaboration with Bizce Ceramics Atelier and the Urla Municipality, was unveiled at a ceremony held at the Ataturk Cultural Center on June 30th.
The panel, dedicated to the 99th anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk's arrival in Urla, was created by the Bizce Ceramics Atelier, a group of women from diverse professions, including academics, businesspeople, architects, and journalists. As part of this special project, 13 ceramic artists created original works inspired by Urla's history, cultural heritage, and Ataturk's favorite objects. The panel, a lasting memorial that carries Ataturk's legacy and Urla's values into the future, features the signatures of Oya Gozmen, Deniz Ayhan, Sebnem Cetiner, Banu Bilge Colak, Nalan Atalay, Filiz Keyder Ozkan, Senay TayanC Dalkilic, Hatice Turan, Ozlem Tuzer Koc, Sevil Tuzer, Yelda Caki, Asuman Zeybek Men, and Arzu Berk.
Speaking at the panel's opening ceremony, Urla Mayor Selcuk Balkan thanked Bizce Ceramics Atelier for presenting such a valuable work to the Ataturk Cultural Center on the 99th anniversary of Ataturk's visit to Urla. Former Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoglu also praised the panel, saying, "The panel is very meaningful. Each piece holds a unique value. It represents Urla's houses, Ataturk's words, and Urla's symbols... I wish they would undertake more projects. We are Ataturk fans. Ataturk could only be portrayed so beautifully in a venue like this."
