THOSE WHO LEFT AN IMPRESSION AT DOKUZ EYLUL UNIVERSITY ON ITS 50TH ANNIVERSARY

All the artists and academics who have contributed to the Ceramics and Glass Department of Dokuz Eylul University's Faculty of Fine Arts, founded in 1987, were brought together for the exhibition "Those Who Left an Impression."

Organized as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of Dokuz Eylul University's Faculty of Fine Arts, the "Those Who Left an Impression" exhibition was held at the Izmir Painting and Sculpture Museum Temporary Exhibition Hall of the Izmir Culture and Arts Factory from August 29 to September 12, 2025. The exhibition brought together all the artists and academics who have contributed to the Ceramics and Glass Department as educators since its beginning.

The Department of Ceramics and Glass at Dokuz Eylul University's Faculty of Fine Arts was founded in 1987 by Prof. Inayet Sevim Cizer and has contributed to the academic development and international visibility of Turkish ceramic art since its inception. The department, which organized the International Ceramics Symposium and colloquiums between 1997 and 2002, houses a rich collection of contemporary ceramic works. The department has also been a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC) since 2001.

Curated by Prof. Halil Yoleri, Assoc. Prof. Memduha Candan Gungor, Assoc. Prof. Ali Temel Koseler, and Res. Asst. Huseyin Gurgoze, the exhibition featured academics from various fields of expertise, who had the opportunity to introduce their research to art lovers and new generations of students through the exhibition of their works as well as the books they wrote.
