THE STORY OF CERAMICS FOR CHILDREN

The story of ceramics is told to children in the book titled "Potter Studio With Cat, Ceramic Clay Miracle", written by ceramic artist Huri Aykut Ulker and illustrated by Sibel Ceylan Subay.

Written by Huri Aykut Ulker and illustrated by Sibel Ceylan Subay, the book titled "Potter Studio With Cat, Ceramic Clay Miracle" was published with the support of Durma Sanat and the contributions of the Turkish Ceramics Society. In order to explain the art of ceramics, which has a history of tens of thousands of years, to children, Ulker handled the subject in a fairy tale setting. Huri Aykut Ulker, a graduate of Marmara University Fine Arts Faculty Ceramics Department, dedicated the book to her teacher Prof. Ates Arcasoy. Arcasoy said, “Chieldren, believe me, children… You are our light. Art will be your light source. Let art accompany you.”

Huri Aykut Ulker is a ceramist who has been working with children for years to instill them the ceramic culture. Before the pandemic, she had created the "Art Everywhere" project with the Bursa Culture, Art and Tourism Foundation (BKSTV), and they went to approximately 250 villages of Bursa and talked about the art of ceramics for a period of nearly five years. Published by Durma Sanat, this book is a gift to children for the 100th Anniversary of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day.
