This year, the award in the Plastic Arts/Glass-Ceramics category, previously given to Yildiz Sima, Mehmet Tuzum Kizilcan, and Mustafa Tuncalp, was presented to ceramic artist Prof. Sevim Cizer, founder of the Ceramics and Glass Department at Dokuz Eylul University's Faculty of Fine Arts. Speaking at the award ceremony, Prof. Cizer said, "Receiving this culture and arts award, named after Homer, Izmir's true son, means a great deal to me. I've spent most of my life in this city, producing and teaching art. I have trained many students, and today they are training students at many universities in our country. In a sense, I became a teacher to teachers. I have made it my goal and mission to contribute to this city in the name of culture and arts. I would like to thank Mr. Mehmet Kurt, the creator of this meaningful award for the development and promotion of Izmir's cultural and artistic activities, as well as a culture and arts worker, and the esteemed jury of the 4th Homer Awards," she said.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay, who attended the ceremony, emphasized the importance of Homer, saying, “Homer is a great poet who has left his mark on the collective memory of literature and humanity. A sage who, drawing inspiration from the light of these lands thousands of years ago, wrote the Iliad and the Odyssey. For us, he is an ancient bridge connecting Izmir's past to its future. That's why he is so precious.”

Mehmet Kurt, owner of Bizimizmir Media Group, stated that Homer should be preserved as one of Izmir's symbols. He said, "As city administrators and citizens, we must preserve and promote Homer's value. Homer should be at the forefront of Izmir's symbols," highlighting the importance of figures enshrined in the city's cultural memory.
