Nobel-Winning scientist Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar's name is given to the science center and library opened in the Tasucu district of Silifke with the collaboration of Medcem Cement and Silifke Municipality. Nearly 50 science tools such as Mars surface and robot, Earth-Sun-Moon model, infinity corridor space tent, balance tunnel, robot, waves in water, are waiting for the visitors in the center.
The Eren Holding affiliate which has Turkey's biggest cement factory, Medcem Cement continues to support the Mersin province and people of it. Completed its' construction under Medcem Cement's collaboration with the Silifke Municipality, the science center and the library is opened with the ceremony. The Novel-Winning Turkish scientist Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar's name is given to the science center and the library which began serving in the Tasucu district of Silifke.
There are nearly 50 science tools in the center
In the Silifke Municipality- Medcem A.S. Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar Science Center that will make it possible for the students and youth to prepare themselves to the future with more equipped and modern educational materials; nearly 50 science tools are waiting for the visitors, which include Mars surface and robot, Earth-Sun-Moon model, infinity corridor space tent, balance tunnel, robot and power generation with waves in water.
Spoke in the opening Medcem Cement General Manager Murat Kahya said “Science and education have a big importance for the growth and the improvement of both our country and our economy. As Medcem Cement we greatly care about this and offer our support whenever it's possible. I wish this science center and the library do the best to our country and Mersin and add value to both the current and the future generations.”
Being an Eren Holding organization and founded for both domestic and foreign markets in Mediterranean Region, Medcem Cement began production in June 2015 after a 3-years of investment period. With an intent on going towards exportation markets, Medcem Cement are reaching to its' target markets with the Medcem Port, a port that belongs to it and founded at a 13 km distance to the factory.
