OUR GOAL IS TO INCREASE THE GLOBAL INFLUENCE OF THE TURKISH CERAMICS INDUSTRY

ree

Dear readers,

As of May, we have completed the general assembly processes for the Turkish Ceramics Federation and its affiliated associations. In this scope, new boards of directors have been elected for both the Federation and its member associations. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all our member representatives who unanimously entrusted me with the role of Chairman of the TSF Board of Directors for the second time. I hope this new era will be beneficial for our industry. I sincerely thank our members who supported us in the previous administrations for their efforts. I also wish all our colleagues in the new administrations the best of luck. Our shared goal is to increase the global influence of the Turkish ceramics industry through the strength born of unity.

The Turkish Ceramics Federation was founded in Ankara in 1986 under the name "Ceramics and Refractories Manufacturers' Association." Despite global political and economic turmoil, our distinguished sector continues to expand its export targets year after year, undoubtedly owing this resilience to its consistent production capacity. Today, we have a strong structure that brings together eight associations under its umbrella. The latest member to join our family is the Porcelain and Ceramic Tableware Manufacturers' Association (PORSES), which accepted TSF membership at its ordinary general assembly held at the end of last year. On this occasion, I once again congratulate them and wish them continued success.

Ceramics has been present in every aspect of human life for thousands of years, emerging as a valuable technology that can evolve to meet current needs. Today, production processes are shaped by contemporary concepts such as sustainability, green energy, Industry 4.0, digital transformation, and, most recently, artificial intelligence. As global competition intensifies for products that are healthy, environmentally friendly, hygienic, and produced with optimal resource utilization, Turkish manufacturers continue to be at the forefront of this race.

Ceramics also stands out as the meeting point of design and engineering. Therefore, developing collaborations with universities to bring qualified designers and engineers to the sector is among our top priorities. Furthermore, our ceramic art, an independent production area that represents the artistic side of ceramics, is also recognized nationally and internationally. Our gallery space in our federation building, created with the contributions of the Turkish Ceramics Society and hosting the works of our ceramic artists, has been renovated to make these valuable works more visible. Offering visitors a quality artistic experience, this special space is transforming into a vibrant cultural platform with new exhibitions.

The Turkish ceramics industry continues to proudly represent our country with its wide range of activities, from production to art. I thank all the institutions, organizations, and individuals who have contributed to this journey and wish you a productive summer.

Kind regards.
