INTERNATIONAL CERAMIC ACADEMY WELCOMED NEW TURKISH MEMBERS

The International Ceramic Academy (IAC/AIC) welcomed 250 new members from around the world in 2025. This year, the Academy received a record number of applications, and six more artists from Turkiye were accepted, and Mehmet Tuzum Kizilcan was elected a Member of Honour.
Founded in 1952, the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC/AIC) works to encourage friendship and communication among ceramic professionals across all countries, promote ceramics, and foster all forms of international collaboration to encourage and sustain the highest quality production across all ceramic cultures. The Academy, which has advised UNESCO since 1958 and has been one of UNESCO's official cultural partners since 2001, has over 1,200 members from 89 countries and accepts applications for new members every two years.
The IAC welcomed 250 new members from around the world in 2025. This year, the Academy received a record number of membership applications, and for the first time, new members were accepted from Vietnam, Nigeria, Mongolia, Bulgaria, and Syria. From Turkiye, Tumay Erman, Munevver Berrin Kayman Karagul, Sevinc Koseoglu Ulubatli, Perihan San Aslan, Seyhan Yilmaz, and Duygu Kahraman joined the IAC membership.
Mehmet Tuzum Kizilcan, one of the prolific names in contemporary Turkish ceramic art, was selected as a Member of Honour by the International Ceramics Academy for his international contributions to ceramic art.
