III. BASKET-FIRING EVENT HELD IN OLYMPOS

• The 3rd Basket-Firing Event, organized by the Art and Design Society of Uşak University, chaired by Kader Yalovaç, was held in Olympos, Antalya, between November 28-30, 2025.

The 3rd Basket-Firing Event, organized by the Art and Design Community under the guidance of Lecturer Dr. Esra Nurten Gül, was attended by faculty members from the Ceramics and Painting Department of Uşak University Faculty of Fine Arts, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müge Tarhan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şefik Baran Tarhan, Lecturer Dr. Yasemin Bol, Lecturer Dr. Onur Fındık, Lecturer Dr. Erhan Karadağ, Lecturer İ. Vefa İrdelp, and 30 students. The event was also attended by students and faculty member Assoc. Dr. Mine Ülkü Öztürk from the Ceramics Department of Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Fine Arts, students from the Ceramics Department of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Faculty of Fine Arts, students from the Ceramics Department of Anadolu University Faculty of Fine Arts, students from the Ceramics Department of Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Fine Arts, as well as archaeologist Ahsen Fındık and ceramic artist Tevfik Türedi Özen.

Dr. Yasemin Bol and İ. Vefa İrdelp, faculty members from the Ceramics Department of Uşak University's Faculty of Fine Arts, provided support to the group with their knowledge and experience in preparing the ceramic forms to be fired, constructing the kiln, the firing process, and post-firing processes. Lecturers Dr. Onur Fındık and Dr. Erhan Karadağ also contributed their expertise in creating Zeus and Medusa-themed models on the kiln's wall surface. The event was conducted interactively with all participants. Following the event, excursions were organized to the ancient cities of Olympos and Phaselis; archaeologist Ahsen Fındık shared her knowledge about the cities with the participants and guided the tours.

At the end of the event, which was organized with the support of Uşak University Rectorate, Health, Culture and Sports Department, Faculty of Fine Arts Dean's Office and the Faculty of Fine Arts Ceramics Department, participation certificates were presented to the participants and to the Zeytin Pansiyon family for their sponsorship.
