HUMA BIRD TO GMW ARCHITECTURE BROUGHT A SILVER MEDAL

GMW Architecture design Tashkent International Airport won the Silver Medal in the sub-category of “Arches, Bridges, Viaducts and Entrance Gates” under the main category of “Architectural Design” at the American origin International Design Awards 2019.

GMW Architecture, which has carried out many architectural and interior design projects with different functions at home and abroad, mainly on airport projects, has been previously awarded in the “Master Projects” category in the “Transportation Projects” category in Architecture Master Prize (AMP) 2019 with the Tashkent International Airport project. It was deemed worthy of the award, and was in the finals in the “Future Projects - Infrastructure” category at the World Architecture Festival (WAF) Awards.

In the design of the award-winning project, starting from the architectural heritage of Uzbekistan’s cities such as Hive, Samarkand, Buhara and Hüma bird, which is a local symbol, GMW Architecture has brought together modern construction methods and technology and cultural identity elements. In all design decisions from mass to interior architecture, a distinctive language was created in which users feel where they are with the local elements.
