Famous Canadian actor, comedian and filmmaker Seth Rogen started making ceramics five years ago. Since then, he has taken his passion for ceramics to the tv screen; amateur ceramicists compete to create the most beautiful pieces on the TV show “The Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down.”

Actor Seth Rogen, who has been nominated for many awards in the comedy category and has won some, has another passion except cinema: making ceramics. Rogen, who got his hands dirty five years ago at the age of 38, says that he loves "making something physical” unlike movies.
The money he earned from blockbuster movies like “Superbad” and “Neighbors” helped fuel his love of ceramics; he has an extensive studio at home, complete with two kilns and three pottery wheels. He didn’t have to go to other studios and work there, as most novice potters do. With unlimited access to his wheel and kiln, he was able to master the craft as he pleased, making many mistakes. “I’m proud to have taken on this as an adult,” Rogen says, “most adults don’t want to learn new things.”
The famous actor recently started a TV show combining his passions for film and ceramics. The weekly show called “The Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down” is shown on Canadian television CBC. In the program, amateur ceramicists compete to create the most beautiful pieces. The program isn't just part of Rogen's adult passion, it also has ties to his childhood. The show is filmed in his hometown of Vancouver on Granville Island, right across from the art studio where the comedian himself took art classes as a kid.
