  • This year's edition of Paper Positions Berlin, held at the former Tempelhof Airport in Berlin, dedicated a special section to ceramics. Called Ceramic Positions, this section created a striking dialogue with the main section of the fair, which focuses on drawing and paper materials.

Paper Positions Berlin, one of the most important events in the Berlin art scene, held its tenth edition this year from April 30 to May 3 in the hangars of the iconic Tempelhof Airport. While the main fair focused on drawing and paper materials, a section was dedicated to a curated area called Ceramic Positions. A striking dialogue was created between the main fair, which brought together 70 international galleries exhibiting contemporary and modern works in an area of over 2,500 square meters, and the ceramics section.

Fifty ceramic works spanning from the 5th century BC to contemporary sculpture highlighted the growing importance of ceramics in art. The exhibition focused on the sculptures of Heike Weber. Drawing attention to ceramics, a material quite different from the paper that dominated the main fair, this special exhibition showcased selected artistic perspectives on the medium. Ceramic Positions demonstrated that ceramics, as a material, is not only experiencing a new development among young artists but is also generating increasing interest among collectors and institutions.
