Assoc. Prof. Mutlu Baskaya has taken on the duty of Head of Ceramics Department of H.U. Fine Arts Faculty, one of Turkey’s rooted educational institutions. Assoc. Prof. Mutlu Baskaya has taken on the duty of Head of Ceramics Department of Hacettepe University Fine Arts Faculty.
Founded by Prof. Hamiye Colakoglu in 1983, Ceramics and Glass Department is among the most qualified ceramics department of Turkey with its’ versatile cirriculum, firing and technical facilities. Department is drawing attention with its’ physical conditions that allows for organizing international events such as Macsabal symposiums and kiln plant. Since the very early days of its’ foundation the head of department duty has been made by Sıtkı M. Erinc (1984-1986), Hamiye Colakoglu (1986-2000), Nazan Sonmez (2003-2012), Candan Terviel (2000-2003 and 2012-2015) and T. Emre Feyzoglu (2015-2020) respectively.
Taking over the head of department duty from Prof. T. Emre Feyzoglu, Mutlu Baskaya is an academician trained in this department and having great contributions to the department. Opened personal exhibitions and attended group exhibitions inland and abroad, participated in various symposiums, workshops and congresses and received 15 national and international awards, the artist has also made the curatorship of Turkey and Ukraine Sections in FLIPAM Museum in Fuping, China. Baskaya is a member of Turkish Ceramics Society, one of very few Turkish members of International Academy of Ceramics (AIC-IAC) and a founder member of International Ceramic Artists Association of China.
