The Ceramic Birdhouse Competition, organized within the scope of the 2nd International Pottery Festival, aims to draw attention to birdhouses, which are an important element of traditional Anatolian architecture. A permanent Bird House Museum will be established in Menemen, the center of pottery, with the Ceramic Bird House designs of the artists.

With the suggestions and contributions of Yıldız Sima, Menemen Municipality organized the Ceramic Birdhouse Competition within the scope of the 2nd International Pottery Festival in order to draw attention to birdhouses, which are an important element of traditional Anatolian architecture. This competition also aimed to create a permanent Bird House Museum in the Menemen region, the center of pottery, with the Ceramic Bird House designs of the artists. The competition also aims to develop ceramic art, encourage young artists in the field of ceramics, and contribute to Menemen economically and culturally with the project of creating a permanent museum.

The jury of the Ceramic Bird House Competition consisted of Abdurrahman Tekin, Assoc. Prof. Atilla Cengiz Kılıc, Prof. Aysegul Turedi Ozen, Assoc. Prof. M. Candan Gungor, Prof. Halil Yoleri, Mustafa Tuncalp, Dr. Nurhayat Yenice and Mehmet Tuzum Kizilcan. The exhibition and award ceremony took place in Menemen's historical Tashan Bedesten on September 15, the opening day of the 2nd International Menemen Pottery Festival, with a large audience participation.
