AWARDS TO 32 WORKS IN THE 32ND ANNIVERSARY OF THE 17TH GOLDEN JUG COMPETITION

The Golden Jug Ceramic Competition, which is organized every two years by the Izmir Rotary Club and has become one of the world's leading competitions in the field of ceramics, has entered its 32nd year. 32 works were awarded in the competition, which was held for the 17th time this year.

The 17th Golden Jug Ceramic Competition, which has been organized every two years by the Izmir Rotary Club since 1991, has become one of the world's leading competitions in the field of ceramics and has been going on for 32 years, has concluded. This year, 100 works applied to the competition, 86 of them passed the preliminary selection and were deemed worthy of the exhibition, and 32 works were awarded. The award-winning works were announced with the exhibition opening at Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center on October 11, 2023.

Halim and Yildiz Sima, the creators of the Golden Jug Ceramic Competition, started this competition in the first years to support ceramic art and artists, and over time, participation in the competition increased in number and quality. Speaking at the award ceremony of the competition, Yildiz Sima stated that there were also artists who participated in the competition in previous years, received awards and now serve as jury members. She also added that she was happy and honored to have touched the Turkish ceramic art of the competition as Izmir Rotary Club. Yildiz Sima emphasized that it was the biggest wish of the Izmir Rotary Club members and herself that the competition would continue to live in the memory of Halim Sima, and that the Golden Jug family would keep this competition alive forever.

In the 17th Golden Jug Ceramic Competition; Assoc. Prof. Atilla Cengiz Kilic, Lecturer Dr. Fusun Covenoglu, Prof. Halil Yoleri, Assoc. Prof. Hasan Baskirkan, Mustafa Tuncalp, Assoc. Prof. Nurdan Arslan, Mehmet Tuzum Kizilcan, Prof. Zehra Cobanli were the jury members.
