AN AWARD FROM ITALY TO HASAN NUMAN SUCAGLAR

A successful ceramic artist of the new generation, Hasan Numan Sucaglar is granted the grand award in the ceramic competition organized in Castellamonte, Italy with his work of art titled “Fantastic Enough?”.

In the 61st of the Castellamonte Ceramic Exhibition held between 20th August – 11th September, several activities have been organized which emphasize the region’s role in ceramic production as one of the essential hearts of ceramic production in Italy with its’ hills rich in clay surrounding the area. Sprawled around 15 public and private exhibition places, the most important of these activities was the international ceramic competition organized under the title “Ceramics in Love… City of Castellamonte Award 2022”. The competition was dedicated to Ukraine. The works of the participant artists offered various comparisons between artistic and technical seekings.


Granted the grand award, Hasan Numan Sucaglar and his work titled “Fantastic Enough” has received a great appreciation. While evaluating the artist’s work, the jury underlined that ‘its’ upright structure is reminding of an imaginary building from Far East and the colors and materials used are appealing’. The Second Award in the competition is granted to Stela Ivanova (Portuguese) while the Third Award to Maurizio Grandinetti (Italy) and the “Silvana Neri” Youth Award to Letizia Pennacino (Italy).

Working in the Selcuk University Fine Arts Faculty Ceramic Department, Assoc. Prof. Hasan Numan Sucaglar is graduated from Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University Fine Arts Faculty Ceramic Department. He finished his postgraduate in the same university and doctor of arts study in Hacettepe University Ceramic Department. He opened three personal exhibitions with one being abroad and participated in more than 50 group exhibitions. He has five awards won from various competitions. He continues to participate in national and international workshops and symposiums.
