After the 3.5 MW rooftop solar power plant commissioned in Bozuyuk in 2023, the 30 MWe/36 MWp capacity solar power plant completed in Aksaray was the company’s second major step in the transition to green energy. With the new investment, more than half of the electricity used in Turkiye operations this year.

The plant, which aims to meet a significant portion of VitrA Karo’s electrical energy needs from renewable sources, is expected to produce enough electricity to meet the annual electricity needs of approximately 19,700 households with 65,520 PV modules of 550 Wp and reduce carbon emissions by 37,190 tons per year.

Stating that they aim to produce half of their electricity consumption in their own renewable energy facilities by 2025 and all of it by 2030, VitrA Karo CEO Mert Karasu said, “Thanks to this investment, we have come one step closer to our global goals by further reducing our carbon footprint. We are committed to our goal of providing all of our electricity needs from renewable sources in the future.”

The Aksaray Solar Power Plant project, which began installation in April 2024, started producing electricity in February 2025 after the installation of PV modules, cables, inverters, transformers and energy transmission lines were completed following site preparation work. Providing environmental and economic benefits with its annual energy production capacity, this project pioneers the transformation of the sector with its innovative approach.
