In the 4th Champions of Export Award Ceremony organized by CCSIB (Cement, Glass, Ceramics and Soil Products Exporters’ Association), companies which made the highest exportation have been awarded. Chairman Erdem Cenesiz said: “Our goal in our Republic’s 100th year, 2023, is to actualize 6,2 billion dollars exportation”.
Incorporating the exporter enterprises of ceramics, cement, glass industries and being the one and only exporters’ association with over 2 thousand members, Cement, Glass, Ceramics and Soil Products Exporters’ Association (CCSIB) organized the 4th Champions of Export Award Ceremony with a wide attendance of public and private sector representatives and executives of exporter companies. A total of 69 awards is given to 41 companies in the sub-industry with the highest exportation, highest increase in exportation and highest exportation unit price in 2021.
CCSIB Chairman Erdem Cenesiz, in his opening speech, reminded that exporter companies of cement, glass and ceramics has made an exportation of 4,8 billion dollars with a growth of 22 percent in 2021 despite the difficult conditions of the pandemic. Cenesiz said that exportation attack has continued also in 2022 and added “We actualized an exportation of 5,2 billion dollars for the first 11 months of this year. We achieved an increase of 25 percent in glass industry, 24 percent in cement industry and 17 percent in ceramics industry. We assume this number will reach to 5,5 billion by the end of the year”.
Cenesiz emphasized that they’re ranked among the first 10 in worldwide export and production in all sectors and remarked that they’re the first in Europe in cement production, first in the world in exportation; first of Europe in production and exportation of ceramic sanitaryware, second of Europe in production of ceramic coating materials, third in exportation; second of Europe in flat glass production, second of Europe and the world in glass household goods production and fifth of Europe and the world in glass packing material production.
“We’ll continue to grow in 2023 despite the global risks”
Making evaluations also about the year 2023, Cenesiz continued his words: “Even though international organizations are not foreseeing a global recession in 2023 they are anticipating a serious slowdown in global economy. Especially the downsizing expectation in our biggest market European economy, is presenting a risk before the growth of our exportation. But, with our quality, eco-friendly production conforming to international standards, we will continue to deepen in our current markets and open to new markets. For the year of 2023 which we will be celebrating the 100th year of our Republic, we determined our growth goal as 6,2 billion dollars with an increase of 12 percent” .
