We are pleased to meet you again in the first issue of 2026. In this issue, we continue to treat ceramics not only as a production area, but also as a multi-dimensional value area that combines design, engineering, and technology at the intersection of production and marketing. We believe that the strong interaction between these areas is one of the most important driving forces in the development of the Turkish ceramics sector.

One of the main themes of this issue is sustainability. Our sector, which has a high environmental impact due to its high energy and raw material consumption, has been undergoing a significant transformation in recent years. Energy efficiency, recycling practices, emission management, and environmentally friendly production approaches are no longer just a preference, but a fundamental necessity for the future of our sector.

The year 2026 is a critical threshold in terms of the targets set within the scope of the Sustainability Action Plan announced in 2024. For our sector, which has an export volume of approximately 1.5 billion dollars, progressing in line with these targets is of great importance, especially in terms of aligning with the European Union's circular economy policies.

On the other hand, global economic fluctuations, rising energy costs, and fragility observed in supply chains directly affect the operating environment of our sector. While these challenges make competitive conditions even more delicate, they also create a new normal in efficiency production areas as a result of cost optimization, and necessitate us taking more decisive steps.

The Turkish ceramics sector, with its production capabilities, quality standards, and innovative strength, possesses the expertise to manage the global challenges we are currently facing. We believe this transformation will not only make our sector more resilient but also more competitive on a global scale.
